Outcome
Android Police writer Akshay Bhalla tends to forget where things are put away, which made the yearly deep clean drag. This year Bhalla used Gemini voice commands to save items to Find Hub's 'Remembered' section as they went: passport, tax documents, birth certificates, spare house and car keys, even a tape measure, each with a photo of where it was stored. Asking Gemini 'Where did I put my passport?' brings back the spot and the picture. The cleaning took two hours instead of a full day, though items have to be updated by hand when moved.

Remember in Find Hub I've stored my passport in the bedroom cupboard. Attach the image as well for future reference.

Run this task now, exactly as written below. Everything you need is here, so start straight away and only stop if something required is missing or a rule below tells you to. Goal: Remember where I've stored an item so I can ask for it later. Fill in before running: - The item: [ITEM] - Where it's stored, as precisely as possible (room, cupboard, shelf): [LOCATION] - A photo of it in place (optional): [PHOTO] Rules: - Save the item with its location, any note and the photo. - When I ask where something is, give the saved location and show the photo. - If I've saved the same item twice, show both and ask which is current. - Remind me that saved locations don't update by themselves if I move the item. - Check facts that can change (prices, opening hours, dates, availability, rules) against the official source, and tell me anything you couldn't verify. - Once a year, list everything saved so I can check it's still where it says. Output: A confirmation of what was saved, or the saved location and photo when I ask. You'll know it worked when: I can find rarely used items months later without searching. Before you finish: re-read my goal and constraints, check your answer against each one, and list anything you assumed or couldn't confirm.

2 blanks are still empty: The item; Where it's stored, as precisely as possible (room, cupboard, shelf). They'll stay in brackets in your prompt, so the chat tool may ask you about them.
What you type stays in this browser tab. We don't send it or save it, and it's gone when you leave the page.

Moving out with belongings stored at a friend's house while staying with family before three weeks in Europe, Nicole Leffer asked ChatGPT for a way to know what was in each box without opening it. It suggested NFC sticker tags (100 for about $26) and walked through setting up iPhone Shortcuts so each tag opens a numbered note. As boxes were packed, including by movers, each note got the box's destination, photos and a list of contents. Tapping a box now shows what's inside, and searching notes found an external monitor without opening boxes.

With Gemini connected to Google Workspace, Android Police writer Rahul Naskar asks it whether any bills are due that week or month, and it scans Gmail for bill emails and answers. Naskar also gives Gemini a jumbled plan for the next day; for a Saturday that included taking their mother to a diagnostic centre for an echocardiogram, it built a table of tasks and time slots with notes on how long the test takes. Naskar saves the plan to Google Docs and shares it on WhatsApp.

An Android Police writer describes using Gemini in Google Keep for planning: asking it for a checklist for a DIY paver patio project, including prep materials and safety gear, gave him a 15-point list within three seconds that he says would have taken 20 minutes of searching. He edits the lists rather than using them as-is.
